History
Lesbians are women who are romantically and sexually attracted to other women. This labrys flag was created by Sean Campbell in 1999, featuring a double-headed axe on an inverted purple triangle. The labrys is an ancient battle axe long used as a symbol of lesbian and feminist strength, while the purple triangle references the symbol used to mark lesbian prisoners in Nazi concentration camps, reclaimed as a sign of survival.
