History
Nonbinary people are those whose gender is not strictly male or female—it may be both, neither, or something else. This 2022 community variant of the nonbinary pride flag uses four softer horizontal stripes—charcoal, lavender, cream, and white—as an alternative to the brighter standard nonbinary flag designed by Kye Rowan in 2014. The black and white stripes nod to the binary that nonbinary identities live outside of, while lavender and cream represent the fluid spectrum in between. The colors are charcoal black, soft lavender, cream beige, and white.
